The Holy Ghost parish has within its boundaries very many educational establishments, some of which have arisen in recent years in order to meet the needs of the large number of families in this area. Only three of them, however, enjoy a Catholic ethos and can assist parents in their primary responsibility of passing the faith on to their children.
The Holy Ghost Catholic School
The Holy Ghost Catholic Primary School is the parish school. It is a voluntary aided school, giving preference to those children who attend Mass in our parish. It is also an outstanding school with excellent facilities and a determination to bring out the best in all our pupils. The school’s motto, "Civitas firma" is taken from the Book of Proverbs: "A child helped by another child is like a strong city".

Oliver House Preparatory School
Oliver House is a relatively new independent school established by parents in association with the Pact Educational Trust. It was founded in response to the lack of space in many local Catholic schools and the preference of some parents for independent education. Oliver House is already a thriving, oversubscribed school and is welcomed by the parish as offering an alternative to the local non-Catholic independent schools.
St Francis Xavier
St Francis Xavier is a Catholic Sixth Form College offering many qualifications in addition to A Levels and also with a developed programme of Adult Education courses.
For all children not at Catholic Schools the parish has a programme of catechetical classes. These indispensable courses are run during term time. They begin in Year 3 (when the children are 7) and continue every year until they are 16. It is very important that parents who choose not to send their children to a Catholic school establish the dates and times of these classes before enrolling their children for after-school clubs and other extra-curricular activities.
